John Joseph Enneking, (1841-1916), an American painter and illustrator, was born of German ancestry in Minster, Ohio. He was educated at Mount St. Mary's College, Cincinnati.

The painting measures approximately 8.4" X 11.4", plus the frame 
The painting is in very good to excellent, original condition. There is a small chip of the board, on the lower left corner, as shown from Verso, in the frame. (Board was hand-cut down, by the artist, originally) All paint is original; there have been no overpaints, or restorations.
The painting is housed in a vintage frame. Frame is not original to the painting; (the painting is much older)
The frame is in good condition, with a couple of spots of wear in the paint. The linen liner on the inner border of the frame has some discoloration
Signed lower left of the painting; and signed verso, in graphite. There is also what appears to be a year/date. The signature is a bit difficult to read. Please review the images.
