The original frame is a custom frame, with the framer's stamp still present and visible verso, as well as the framer's paper seal, which remains mostly intact. Additionally, verso, there is a white label with the artist's signature, and the title \"Delta\". The painting's measurements that are visible from behind the mat are approximately 7.5\" x 19\"H. In the original custom frame, the entire artwork measuresapproximately 12.6\" x 24.8\"H. The painting is estimated to have been created in the late 1960s to early 1970s.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e  Alex Dzigursky was an internationally acclaimed Serbian- American artist renowned for his vibrant seascapes. He was often described as a \"Poet of Land and Sea\". He was known for his strong use of color, dynamic composition, and dramatic contrast of light and shade.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e   Born in 1911 in Stari Becej, Yugoslavia, (then part of the Austro- Hungarian Empire), Dzigursky pursued art, despite his farmer father's disapproval. With the Serbian Church's help, he attended the School of Art in Belgrade, and later graduated from the Academy of Art in Munich, Germany, in 1936.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e   Alex Dzigursky served in the Royal Yugoslav Navy before World War II erupted. After escaping imprisonment, and living briefly in Vienna and Italy, he fled the post- war communist regime, and immigrated to the United States with his wife and daughter in 1949, arriving in New York.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e   Initially, Dzigursky painted murals and icons for Serbian Orthodox churches across the U.S.. Around 1952, he began to focus on seascapes and landscapes that would forever define his career, traveling extensively throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe, for inspirarion. He eventually settled in Califirnia in 1963.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e   Alex Dzigursky developed an individual style, emphasizing technical drawing composition, brushwork, and color. His maritime paintings were considered his forte', with his works reflecting the majesty of the American coastline.
