Amy Cutler is an American contemporary magic realist painter who creates intricate paintings on paper and detailed graphite drawings that depict women, animals, and hybrid beings in enigmatic situations. Her influences are diverse, encompassing anxieties about global warming, Persian dynastic stories, and personal memories. Her work is often figurative and linear in perspective, and her paintings often feature an underlying subtext of the feminist critique. Although her work contains elements of fantasy, there are layers of truth about the realities of domestic work and labor.

Amy Cutler's work has been featured in surveys of contemporary art, including the 2004 Whitney Biennal, and is represented in numerous public colections, such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of art, in New York City.
