Bruno Cote, (1940-2010), original vintage Canadian Coastal town landscape in Joli-Perce; (the Perce Rock formation), in Quebec. The painting is an oil on the Weber Artist School canvas board and is in excellent condition. The painting beautifully captures the artist's road trip painting through Canada, during the 1980s through various regions along the coasts and mountains. The measurements of the painting are 12" X 16".
In the picturesque city of Quebec, Bruno Côté was born in August 1940, into a family where art played a profound role. Surrounded by this creative environment, his artistic talents began to flourish. After completing his education, he joined the family's publicity business in 1957, gaining valuable experience in the world of marketing and communication.
However, Côté's true passion lay in painting, and in 1978, he made a pivotal decision that would shape the course of his artistic career. He moved to the charming town of Baie-Saint-Paul, a place renowned for its natural beauty and artistic community. It was there that he held his first significant solo exhibition, which marked the beginning of his rise as a prominent landscape painter.
Seeking inspiration and new horizons, Côté embarked on a series of journeys across Canada starting in 1980. From the rugged coasts to the majestic mountains, he captured the diverse landscapes of his homeland with his brush and palette. As his reputation grew, art galleries across Canada sought to represent him, showcasing his breathtaking works to a wider audience. One such venue was the prestigious Chateau Laurier Hotel in Ottawa, where his art found a prominent place.

The Canadian Parliament bestowed one of his paintings, "The Portage Trail," as a gift to the Parliament of Scotland, commemorating the inauguration of the Scottish Parliament Building. It was a testament to his talent and the cultural exchange between the two nations.
Tragically, on June 30, 2010, Bruno Côté succumbed to prostate cancer in his beloved hometown of Baie-Saint-Paul. His untimely passing left a void in the Canadian art community, but his legacy as a skilled landscape painter lives on.
