Francis E Jamieson Vintage Scottish Highland Loch Riverside Scene Landscape Oil Painting. The painting is an oil on canvas and measures approximately 20" X 30", sans frame. The painting is estimated to have been created in the 1930s and was previously professionally restored from a center cut on the reverse. The paint has some crackle, as shown in the images, however, the paint is in stable condition and is original to the painting. The antique frame is not original to the painting and is extremely solid wood and heavy for its size. This painting may be shipped, however, the frame would add considerable shipping cost and packing costs. If the painting is to be shipped, it will be carefully removed from the frame, before packing and shipping, unless the buyer specifically requests to keep the frame. If the painting is picked up in the Los Angeles area in California, (which is advisable), the frame may be included for no added fee. Conversely, if the buyer does not want the frame, and is picking up the painting, there is a $200 discount from the listed price.

Francis E. Jamieson (1895 - 1950) was an accomplished English painter whose passion for the Scottish Highlands was ignited during a holiday, leading to an enduring obsession with capturing the beauty of highland landscapes. His dedication to his craft made him one of the most prolific artists of his era.

The artistry of FE Jamieson's paintings gained immense popularity, leading to exclusive contracts with various furniture stores, where he adorned furniture pieces with his scenic masterpieces.

Francis Jamieson employed a remarkable strategy to expand his reach without detection from his employers. Under a total of eleven different artist names, he skillfully marketed and sold his paintings. Among these aliases were J. McGregor, Graham Williams, Henry Stewart, and W. Richards. Additionally, he used pseudonyms like Aubrey Ramus, Stanley Penn, A. de Perrin, and others to further conceal his identity while sharing his artistic creations with the world.
