Edwin Salomon, a renowned Israeli artist based in Jerusalem, was born in 1935 in Romania and passed away in 2014. He received his artistic education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cluj. Hailing from Ocna Mures, a town situated in Transylvania, Romania, Edwin Salomon dedicated his life to the pursuit of painting. 

His artistic journey began in 1951 when he was admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Cluj. During his fourth year of studies, the National Museum of Bucharest acquired three of his paintings, marking an early recognition of his talent. In 1957, Salomon completed his studies at the Academy and became a member of the esteemed Academy of Fine Sculptors Association, signifying his integration into the Israeli art scene.

Seeking further artistic growth, Salomon traveled to Paris in 1965 for additional training at the Sorbonne. Upon his return, he dedicated himself not only to his artistic endeavors but also to sharing his knowledge and passion for art through teaching. He held teaching positions at various institutions, including the Art Institute of Bat-Yam, the Tel-Aviv Museum, and the Teachers College in Ramat Hasharon. Additionally, he served as the Art Director for the Wizo-France Vocational High School.   

Throughout his career, Edwin Salomon garnered numerous awards worldwide, showcasing the widespread recognition of his artistic talent. His paintings have found their way into numerous private collections across Israel, the United States, Canada, Uruguay, Brazil, Romania, Sweden, and Hungary. His contributions are also evident in public collections, including the National Museum of Bucharest, the Cluj Museum, the Herzelia Museum, the President's Residence in Jerusalem, and the Great Synagogue of Washington DC.

Edwin Salomon's remarkable artistic journey came to an end in 2014, leaving behind a legacy of exceptional artistry and creative contributions to the world.

The painting measures approximately 30" X 36", plus the frame
The frame is the original vintage early 1950s, plastic frame. The frame was a light lime green color of the era on the front and has been fully restored to a dark, metallic silver.
The painting is in very good, original condition. There is a light scratch in the larger, top bull, and a couple of other minor surface scratches. Please review the images, for detail.
