Rare Jim Henson Puppeteer Original Vintage Post War American Oil Painting
Original, vintage, early illustrative Post War, Contemporary oil painting on masonite board of a small group of three men at a long table, in a discussion, by American artist and visionary puppeteer, Jim Henson, (1936-1990). The painting is a very early work by the artist, and very rare. The painting's measurements sans frame, are approximately 13.85" x 8.26". With the original craftsman wood frame, the measurements of the entire artwork are approximately 19.20" x 13.70".
The original painting is in excellent original condition, and is signed in the lower right of the painting. All paint is original. There has been no overpaints or restorations performed. Please review all images as supplemental to the written condition report, for quality assurance.
Jim Henson was an American artist, filmmaker, and visionary puppeteer who created The Muppets and transformed television and film with innovative puppetry and characters like Kermit the Frog and Big Bird.

He used this artisric foundation and keen eye for detail to create unique worlds and characters for television and film.
Jim Henson's early interest in art was encouraged by his grandmother and fueled by his early career in art and graphic design at the University of Maryland. While in college, he successfully started a silk-screen printing business; creating posters and sets for high school theater productions. Artwork from this period reveals Henson's colorful, vivid imagination and creative talent for design.
Henson applied his artistic vision to create unique and enduring fantasy worlds in projects such as "The Dark Crystal" and "Labyrinth", showcasing a vast range of visual storytelling.
