Antique painting by American/Massachusetts artist, Lon Hanks, or LJ Hanks. Rocky Massachusetts coastline, with seascape, and rolling waves. Color and masterful technique are exceptional. Color is reflective of the early Cape Cod artists.

Measurements of painting are 30.2" X 24". In frame, the painting measures approximately 35" X 29".
Age of canvas is very old; image shown of reverse. Painting's age is estimated at around 1930.
Signed into the paint, lower left of painting.

A few minor chips through-out have been professionally restored. A thin 2" cut has been restored through the middle of the painting, where the patch canvas shows on reverse. Stretch of painting to the wooden stretcher bars is loose, and could possibly use a re-stretch, or attachment to a back board. Painting is in good, lightly restored condition. There is still a bit of darkening of the varnish; (painting has not been professionally cleaned). Paint is in stable condition. Frame is good condition. A few chips on reverse from wear and age.
