Original vintage abstract expressionist, cubist painting with architectural elements, and a sailboat in gouache and pastel, in the manner of German- American artist, Lyonel Charles Feininger, (1871-1956).

In frame, the painting measures approximately 26.2" X 33"
Medium: The artist set pastel and gouache on woven paper, attached to eggshell white cardboard
Estimated to have been created between 1948 and 1952.
The painting is signed lower right in graphite but appears to have smudged over the years. The "F" is still visible, however, due to lack of complete signature, the painting is attributed to the artist Lyonel Charles Feininger
The painting is in very good to excellent original condition. The very edges in two small areas show pressure marks/small dents in the board, from the nails in the side of the frame.
Painting is still housed in circa 1950 original vintage custom gallery eggshell white/cream colored, painted wood frame, with dark plum/soft black velvet matting. Frame was touched up in two areas, years ago, and in two small areas shows a brighter white than the cream colored original paint. This could probably be corrected, with minimal effort. The velvet on the frame has small imperfections, due to age/wear, as shown.
