Original vintage antique watercolor, and possibly pencil on Whatman's Water Colour Sketch Board, Winsor Newton, London, England, by Emma Florence Harrison; estimated to have been created approximately 1925. Painting's subject is an almost Scottish influenced, (Emma Florence Harrison worked with Mary Macdonald, and various Vienna artists, with similar colors, and style).

The romanticist scene depicts an image titled "An Idyll" after artist Maurice William Greiffenhagen; the original currently in the possession of the Liverpool Corporation via the Walker Art Gallery.

Emma Florence Harrison (1877–1955), (also known as Florence Harrison (1877–1955)) was an English artist known for her romantic, Pre-Raphaelite style was an Art Nouveau and Pre-Raphaelite illustrator of poetry and children's books. Many of her books were published by Blackie and Sons. She illustrated books by notable Pre-Raphaelite circle poets Christina Rossetti, William Morris and Sir Alfred Tennyson. She has been previously known by name Emma Florence Harrison, although there is some dispute that this was correct.

There is a signature, in green, lower right, that does appear to be in the artist's hand. (within the light beige patch to the far lower right corner there is light green signature that is visible on the 4th image) However, due to the lightness, and difficulty in viewing, painting is listed in the manner of Florence Harrison.
Watercolor on Whatman's Windsor and Newton Limited Board, Made in England. Media also appears to have been enhanced by type of pencil / light ink drawing, in addition to watercolor. Please review photos for up close details.
Painting is in very good original condition. Housed in a newer vintage frame, with no glass. Painting is semi secured on reverse, and may need to be professionally secured.
