Original vintage American Mid Century Modern abstract painting by Harry Bertoia. Signed in monogram, (HB), in lower right corner. Harry Bertoia was a brilliantly gifted artist, professionally skilled in many mediums. Knoll historian Brian Lutz once said “Bertoia’s paintings were better than his sculptures. And his sculptures were better than his furniture. And his furniture was absolutely brilliant.”

Abstract Composition
Age is estimate at approximately between the range of 1945- 1950, when the artist was residing in Southern California. Painting shows the artist's strong forms of interwoven small cubes in an almost cubist modernism, in which is seen in many of his sculptures; as well as an sponge like application. Oranges flashes of brilliant color lend intriguing contrast in almost monochrome tones of blue.

Painting is in very good to excellent condition. There are a couple of very fine lines in the white, as expected with age.
